Indeed I know these are not New York Notes but what beauties they are anyway.
These were left over from the CSNS show/auction and I got them for a fair price (well under book). The Numeral for a song and the Star for a song and dance!! :)

I welcome these into the RickieB collection even though they are from the Phille and San Fran Districts! Small size Stars and Numerals are getting harder to find in nice grades!!

Perhaps these will become trading or selling material down the road one day!
    Hope you enjoy!

    very nice :)

its funny to see the difference in designs. Both noes grade as a 64, but the star note 'looks' so dirty. Yes, its the design, but i like it all the more :)

Beautiful notes! AND you're right, they're not New York notes so if you want, you could send them down this way..lol ............................John

They are the ones with a number rather than letter in the middle of the fed seal on the left. Typically (for $5, $10 and $20's) series 1928 and 1928-A had the number and starting with 1928-B they changed to a letter...ie, that 12 in his note would have become the letter L.

Great looking notes mate, just adding to DJ comments has the paper used for the notes changed between series?

The paper composition remained the same..it was the inks that changed....
Or at least this is what I read...I think the brightness of the photo may be influencing them some what. I should get these soon and will let you all know.
