It looks like a wide AM (normal 92-D) to me are you sure or could we see better (closer) photo.

thats as good as it gets I'm afraid, it's so damaged. the most important part has been heavily damaged. I only thought that was what it was because I compare what I am looking at to a normal '92D I keep for that purpose, and the font of the A looked different. Then again, it may just be the damage itself that made it look that way to me. Not so sure myself now! lol!

That's obviously a wide AM. Keep looking, though! I just got like $50 of circulated rolled cents from my grandma that were rolled in the early 2000's and I'm slowly making my way through them. I won't stop until I find a 1992D close AM or a late 90's wide AM.

The other lettering indicates that it is a normal Wide AM coin. Compare the style of the lettering on the word STATES to another normal 1992 D Wide AM cent and you will see that they are the same.

On a Close AM, the word STATES has slightly thicker styled letters.

    Thanks,
    Bill

It is a normal coin. The A of STATES is centered between the Ts. On the close-AM the A is closer to the right T.
