1974S Lincoln ~ Some sort of doubling..

    In my latest roll searching, I've acquired about ten 1974-S pennies. On one of the pennies, I noticed that the word "God" and the date was just a bit thicker than the others. What do you think? I'm going to guess die deterioration, but hope for something cooler. :cool:

    Hopefully the pics show it well enough.. the coin in question is on the right.

    what you have is type 1 (large date) and type 2 (small date)

    what i like to look for is Lincolns hair style to tell the different types - type 1 has more detail hair compared to type 2
