I bought this lot of Ebay a little while ago, and was starting to get a little worries it wasnt going to come well it arrived today... 1957 $1 star note *21424447C very good *06484977A AU/Ex Fine *71182417A good/AG *58773880C Very good *72470377A very good/fine 1963 $5 *02596141A Ex Fine 1934A $10 C01061130* (large filled star) Fine I dont have my books with me, so i have zero idea as to value or if anything is special. I bought the lot becuase they were stars, and i just wanted them i will try to post pics as soon as humanly possible - RickieB is running us ragged in his contest, so i will have to wait until that is over
Nice, I have a 5$ 1963 Star note too. but Mine has the serial 3 of *02991041 (serial is somewhat similar to yours) Here's a scan so we can compare
nice star magman! Your right, the serials are very simlar. My note is very crisp still, and very clean. The largest drawback are the tell tale folds of being placed in a wallet for a long time. The center and right fold are very faint, but the left fold is quite evident.
lol maybe later tonight... idid look up values, and was pleasantly surprised. take the grades i listed and give me a value for the lot if you were to bid on it i bought them all in 1 lot. i will tell ya how much i paid after a few guesses
ok, i scanned some real quick like 1957 $1 SC star 1963 $5 LT star 1934A $10 FRN star the last 4 SC stars are low end good to very good or so. lets see who can come closest to a value
OUCH! lol the $10 alone books for more then that lol however! keeping with my oath that any 'best offer' on ebay be an insulting offer when compared to the buy it now price i did offer the seller close to that on my first offer lol No, Magman was the closest and thenoost was waaay high. Although, thenoost was closest to book value lol. I paid around $95 for the lot. but besides that -- i got a bunch of cool star notes!!! ya cant lose with that lol
I put the $10 at $25-30, the 1957 $1 stars at $3-4 each and the 1963 $5 at $10-15. Pretty sure all those notes can be found for prices close to that which give a range of $50-$65 and I went with the 'good deal' end of the range.
Very true! sales of notes very rarely sell for 'book' value so even without a steal of a deal, i filled some holes with stars i didnt have, so i am quite happy with the lot.
