Have to say that this make for good reading guy's and if I was of a suspisiouse nature I might think the seller was up to no good LOL
Can you imagine his defense attorney: "Your Honor, somebody must have broken into his house and used the tools that he bought on eBay to cut those mintmarks off of those coins he bought on eBay, and when he listed those coins for sale he had no way of knowing they had been tampered with."

I'm surprised we missed it but he's been doing the same thing with 1928-S Peace Dollars: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280325551431 If you look closely, you'll see where the mint mark once was. :kewl: Ribbit Ps: He's also been caught doing it to 1922-D Lincolns and look at what he just purchased: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350196475854 Looks like he was gearing up for a run on them. :goof:
I think I'm about done buying on eBay unless it's one of the people I know. I guess I shouldn't copy and paste everything here, but there are more than his that's been happening on eBay. There is another thread there called: "Paypal told me to return counterfeit coin to seller for refund!" Can you believe that they just told him to return it to the seller for a refund? These people need to be behind bars! I would think that eBay should be charged right along with them by aiding them. They are just telling people to return to the seller for a refund. They are doing nothing to stop it!
If it wasn't so serious it would actually be REALLY funny. It's kinda like the guy that robs a bank and leaves his drivers lic., and SS card on the counter. This guy is a moron!
As odd as that sounds, what do you expect them to say? He sent you something, if you expect a refund you should have to send it back. Otherwise I could buy something genuine, tell ebay it was fake and they should make the seller give me my money back and I get to keep the item too?
I guess you don't know of the new PayPal policy that was started a little over a month ago? Section 13.4 is being amended to include the following language: “If you lose a Significantly Not as Described Claim because the item you sold is counterfeit, you will be required to provide a full refund to the buyer and you will not receive the item back (it will be destroyed).” With the new policy, you have to get a written professional opinion (outside person) and then turn the counterfeit over to the police and get a receipt and turn in a copy of the police report and written opinion (upload pics of both to a pic hosting site and provide urls) and PayPal will fully refund your money, including shipping. The new policy is in place for the very reason that member posted their thread . . . why send a counterfeit back to a counterfeit seller, just for them to resell it again as authentic? Ribbit Ps: You cannot keep the item, it must be turned over to the proper authorities. Pps: Where did the thread go? I can't find it? :goofer: I remember seeing it last night but I was too tired to reply and I've searched everywhere for it and it's gone today.
