Dad just got home and said my friend at the bank asked him if I wanted about $100 to $200 worth of $2 bills...my dad didn't know but got $20 for me to look at and I got a * note and also 3 bills in order and then another set had 2 in order...I think I'll go up and see what else he has...he is nice about everything and will even hand bills over the counter and let me look for * or anything else if I want too...

Will let ya'll know what I find.

Sounds nice! Congrats!!! I have assembled a fair amount of $2 over the years from the bank. I have exactly 50 $2. One of which is a Star note, and one is a 1928.

Thanks---funny thing is...I'm not a paper money collector...I keep a few pieces but nothing much---

If I find more of the same # number I have 2 things I could do...

#1 ...sell them in my clubs auction
    or
#2 ...make them into a pad (like a note pad) that would be glued on one end...but I might have to have a long talk with some police men friends of mine....its good to have friends that are police men!!!!

There's nothing illegal about that Spencer. The rubber cement on the ends doesn't mutilate the bills. In fact, years ago there was an attorney in San Francisco who used to carry a pad of $100 bills around, back when $100 was a lot of money. :D

Yes its alright...but we also have some problems around our town with people making fake $20's and $50's to spend and most people around here have never seen a $2 bill so it might cause a problem...but then I might get my photo in the paper...and on the wall of the post office!!!!! <VBG>

Excuse my bringing this up from two years ago, but is Speedy's name Spencer? Just curious.

I have seen folks in the casino with $1 and $2 bills in pads...they use them to tip the cocktail waitress. It's just a way to get noticed and be remembered in a busy casino!

    Hey Speedy,
Inspect those $2 bills carefully (FRONT and BACK). A couple of weeks ago, I helped out a friend at a coin show and he paid me $60 in $2 bills. A couple of days later I was inspecting the dates and things and noticed quite a few 1976 bills, they demand a small premium, 1 or 2 * notes, and FINALLY, I noticed an error on the back of one.
THE INK from the front of the bill also got stamped on the back of the bill. Pretty cool and worth about $50.

Inspect the $2 bills carefully, it may turn out to be a rewarding experience.
