What is the 2009 Lincoln Roll with a Purple Heart Stamp all about? Is that just something started by people buying the rolls and adding a Lincoln stamp and a Purple Heart stamp or ??? You can find them all over Ebay for a premium cost.

    Thanks

    Sholom retired...

Yup. (At least that's my understanding). And, sometimes a postal mark for the day of release . . . so that it can be sold at even a bigger premium.

If you just go to Ebay and do a search for "2009 Lincoln Purple Heart" you'll find plenty of them.

The stamps are still usable...sorta. They may be planning on mailing the rolls like that.:D

I can sorta understand the Lincoln commerative stamp on the rolls but why the Purple Heart? Is it because Lincoln, as Commander in Chief, died in office?

Yeah I figured these were just "made up" collectables but I had to ask.

There you go Sholom, another bow for your quiver. Are ya taking notes?

I need to run to the post office this weekend to get some of those Lincoln stamps. If I can get $18 a roll and don't even need a postmark ...that's a beautiful thing.

I'll see you in line on Thursday morning at Mint Headquarters.
    I hope it doesn't rain.

    Aren't all collectibles made up?
    Sure they are.
