Visited my local dealer yesterday to pick up some supplies. I found this on his "bargin table". The dust is on the holder, the actual finish is mirror perfect. Anyone care to guess how much I paid, and what is the value of this beautiful proof coin ? BTW, a Kwacha converts to about 4000 to 1 USD.

Since you're in the US I bet you got this dirt cheap... I'm going to say two bucks!

    Really nice find, btw. :)

Heheh, didn't know it was silver, but in a lot of cases I find that a lot of dealers tend to mark down this kind of stuff alot, especially in the US.

I got a bag of silver world proofs (that were all beat up) for well under melt before.

OK, I paid $15. Krause, which is usally high, has it listed at $40.

I don't care if it's only worth melt, it is a beautiful addition to my world silver collection, and my wife loves it.

The dealer had it a box full of "collectible" coins from American Mint. Said he got them from a customer who wanted to sell. I can't imagine what that guy paid for all of those coins. I checked the site and they are way overpriced. Looks like the send coins on approvble, like Littleton. Most of the coins were in American Mint flips with some type of COA. This was one of the few which was not. Might have been at one time, don't know, don't care. BTW, American Mint has a silver Obama coin for "only" $69.95. The box had several George W. Bush coins, I wish it had a "George Walker Bush" coin in there for $15.

Not really my area or theme of collecting, but that "family" of lions looks great on that coin. And $15 sounds like an excellent price to me ...

I think a group of lions is called a pride. (Not trying to be a know it all, just an FYI)
