Hi all. New to the thread. I'm currently doing research on bank note printers and wanted to know if anyone is familiar with the Societe Technique d'Impressions Fiduciaires (STIF) based in Paris, France? I cannot seem to find anything about this company. I would like to know when it was in business and the extent to which it printed currency. I've seen a few printer's samples from STIF, but no actual notes. Your help is much appreciated.

Welcome. I have not heard of STIF, but am interested in your research generally, especially where it includes French printers. Please keep us posted on the project!

The only proof I have of this company's existence is a face model of a Bank of Canada note submitted as a porposed design for the multicolour series issued during the 1970s. Here's an image of the model.

Is it possibly a French Canadian company, rather than a French company?

Maybe Montreal, not Paris, is the place to search for them.

Due to this being part of a Contest I will be running soon....I will only say that
the Company was founded in 1842.

    More after the Contest!

Hummmmm I have to pay attention to these new threads, man I never thought that would come up!! See Watson, I told you!
