I have recently started to collect Morgan Silver Dollars. Unfortunately, I didn't subscribe to a site like this until I had purchased nearly 20 Morgans, most graded by ANGS, NES, and NPG. :desk: My question is this: Should I send these coins to a more reputable grading company, so I know exactly where I stand with these coins? Since I learned that the companies mentioned above have very questionable grading practices, I feel that how they are graded now is not even close to what they should be. Any advice would be most helpful. Thank you.
First of all, welcome to the forum Kitta. You've done yourself a great service by subscribing to this forum as there are many veteran and knowledgeable folks on these boards. I think the first question you must ask yourself is do I really want to submit all of these coins to a reputable grading service (and pay a ton of money in the process) or just learn from this mistake and in the future only purchase coins from a reputable TPG company. It's a tough decision to make. I myself, am not strictly a collector of TPG coins but many here on this forum are. They can probably give better advice for what you really need to do regarding the grading services that were employed to grade the coins you have. Lastly, don't be too hard on yourself....we all make mistakes. I've made a few "doozies". Live and learn my friend. You will learn much here.....:smile
Well - we would need to see the coins, but in some cases it will not be worth the cost to send to another grading company. I am thinking some of the real common dates you could probably replace for the cost of grading these coins. Just my opinion. Ooops - forgot to add - welcome to the forum!!!
