I think this is some kind of "Ode to Maryland". Has anyone seen anything like this or know what it is for?
I has been counter stamped - post mint damaged. They are not all that rare and not particularly valuable.
Well, I know it not worth much, was just wondering if there is any history behind it? Sometimes organizations do stuff like this.
i recently found a KS stamped one.. im not sure what company but they stamped all 50 states in the shape of the state with the states abbreviation in the middle.... not worth much but pretty neat imo and i believe it started in 76 for bicentennial
There are people who collect counterstamped coins and when you think of it it would be quite a interesting collection to talk about
The ones with states were sold in souvenir stands and information stations at truck stops and souvenir shops. Really very common.
