I bought this one a while ago, I just liked it for the originality and visible detail, even though it isn't especially rare (301,000+ struck). Hope y'all like the images.
That is a nice representative coin, and with nice original toning. Nice one! And that about not specially rare is all relative isn't it. A mintage of 301000 in 1807 is way rarer (and desirable imo) than some pricey Morgan dates with similar mintages in the 1880's and 90's...

Since I don't have anything brilliant to say about die varieties and whatever, I'll add that 1807 was the last year for the Gilbert Stuart inspired bust design, that this same year John Reich was hired as an engraver at the Mint and production of his own design of bust halves began. A big change in the look of the half dollar, wasn't it?
