Hey everyone! I recently acquired this beautiful 1849 Large Cent. It's probably the highest graded large cent I've ever owned! It's practically flawless with barely any wear at all! I'm just glad I got it at an affordable price! All grades and comments are more than welcome! :eat:
Nice choclate brn, on the observe an the reverse shows hints golden patches mixed in with light green hues and some blue sprinkled in the green seems too be centered around the wreath with the light hues of blue layered into the center of the reverse flowing out from the wreath too the rims were they meet up with an light golden rustic brown were everything truns into an choclate brown near the denticles also there seems too be an slight rotated die on the reverse nice coin for the year price well it books at 250 or upwards hope you got it at an steal very nice coin i shall have some pics in another couple of weeks cause i need to get an kodaic easy share first though well on too other posts . kffmnmk
Thanks to both of you I was really happy with this purchase, especially since it's one of my best yet! It has a really nice chocolate brown color, along with it's outstanding details. I would say it's an AU coin also, but I do see minimal wear on the leaves. So I would say a firm AU-58 in my happy opinion
Excellent. Is that a harder year to find? I have the 1956, 52, 50 and a couple others AU-58, but don't see that date very often.
I don't know what it is about copper but it has an appeal that nothing else can compare to. :thumb: Scrumptious! :eat: Ribbit
It looks really nice - can you get some better lighting on it? The pictures are too dark for me to really judge. I bought a 1853 that was very dark - I will try to gets some pictures of it up tonight. My 1853 is probably a VF so not as nice as yours. I will admit the dark pictures do show how slight the wear is. Nice coin Ryan.
What a great strike and remaining details!!! These coins aren't easy to find fully struck on new (i.e. non-crumbling) dies. However, the color does bother me a bit (perhaps the photos?). Congrats...Mike
Great coin. I love the color and the crispness of the strike. I'll have to take your word on the wear as I can't see it in these photos. Nice score. Bruce
It looks beautiful !! Last time I saw one this pretty, it had a lot of makeup and polish. What kind of affordable price did you get the coin for?
I think it's time to get some of that verdi-gone before it's too late. I just ordered some myself, I got a set of Indian cents and the green is spreading through the whole set.
