    . . . my heart skipped a beat.

    But just for a second.

    I had purchased a lot of 53 unique-date average Mercs on ebay for $61. The first one I looked at was supposed to be a 1916-P. I turned it over . . . and this is what I saw:

    Oh baby! Is that a mint mark I see there???

    I take out my 8x Loupe . . . and I see something like this

    I'm thinking it's an "S" . . . .

    But I was real excited for at least half a second!

    Thoughts?

    Sadly it looks like an S. It too rounded to be a D.

    It looks like an S to me, but it is always exciting to see that for a minute or so. :D
