I think that may depend on how people react... I just check numismedia and the '59 nickels don't carry much of a premium.... if the demand never materializes then the price won't reflect the rarity.
I would say if people get some rolls and people buy them for hudge premiums on ebay those buyers will be making a mistake IMO. The nickel and dime listed as "the lowest mintage since", look at the values of these low mintage coins. Sellers could possibly do very well and buyers will not. This is all just my opinion of course. On the same theme I read and hear the Territorial Quarters mintages are low compared to State Quarters. Some say yes, but there are six of these this year exceeding the yearly variety of State Quarters. To me the "why" doesn't matter, the simple fact is mintage totals will probablly be down. I would rather have a roll or two of these than the nickel or dime. I doubt I'll actually do it though, never done anything like that before.
I think you can do this eventually for this price on ebay. If like most, initially they might quite possibly have a bigger premium than you're willing to pay, then back down.
You never know what will or will not be worth more in the future. I just sold a P&D mint wrapped roll set of 2004 Jeffersons handshake nickels for $35! I still get these in change too. I am going to get a couple of rolls of the 09s if I can get a reasonable price on them or find them at the bank.
I have gotten several 2009 P dimes in change and have put a really nice one in my Rosie Dansco album. I've saved the other 3 or 4. I've yet to see a 2009 D dime.
