I've been watching an auction on ebay for a BU set of 12 Canadian quarters from the year 2000.

I was wondering if anyone might give me an estimate of how much to pay for those and how much is too much. Last thing i need in this economy is getting ripped off!

    Thanks, all.

Do these coins come in a clamshell style case? And you are asking about the BU and not the proof set? The set was also issued in a cellophane style set as well. You know these coins have actually gone down in price. I bought a set of BU in a clam shell case about 3 years ago for 50 bucks
Ive only got a recent value of the proof set but Im sure you can make a judgement call about the BU.
    Proof Set in Case-release price..149 bucks...present trend value..110,
BU in Clam Shell-release price-49 bucks...
    BU in Cellophane-24 bucks.
    Theres also this style below...

The auction that I was talking about said they were BU but the seller had put them in a folder kinda thing ...more like a chart with description of each coin.

    Thanks for your informative post.

They are most likely uncirculated business strikes. So they go for less then ten dollars. The link above is approximatley the price you should pay.

I am slowly picking the individual coins up as silver proofs whenever I manage to find them :D

I think $8 sounds reasonable enough, and that's exactly the offer I gave to the seller, but he refused! :D He's asking for about $12, which i think is a little over the top.

By the way, if I may ask, where did you buy them from?;)

For some reason, I assumed that it was not ebay. I'm already on a lookout there...hopefully I'll find something soon enough. But thanks anyway...at least now I know what to expect to pay!

I think we paid about $10 for the set as well. It wasn't on eBay.

If you are going to bid on something, be sure to keep the shipping costs in mind as well...
