I just purchased a my first Intercept Shield Album for my peace dollar collection. I have an almost finished BU set and wanted to protect it from the elements the best I can. It currently is in a Dansco Album with a Slipcase. I bought the Intercept Album because I felt that it would do a better job to protect my coins from toning and still display them in an album. I must say I am very disappointed in the overall quality and construction of the album and slip case. I feel that the Dansco is a better album for overall looks, quality and feel. The Intercept album is lighter and some of the laminations of green paper around the slip case appear to have begun to delaminate some. Just wanted to vent and get others thoughts. For the money you pay and that it is suppose to be a high end album, I hope the thing works and protects the coins. It doesn't even give the mintages in the back of the book, and the font used sucks, doesn't look professional IMO.
Tater, sorry to hear about your experience. But this is good info, because I have been comtemplating doing the same and moving all my coins from the Whitman Deluxe Albums to Intercept. I haven't had a problem with Whitman, but like you just trying to protect my collection the best I can.
This is good information as I do not have a presidential golden dollar album yet. And though I have about 20 Danscos, I was going to perhaps purchase the intercept for the presidents. I think I'll stick with Danscos now.... thanks
I've only one Intercept Shield album (Eisenhower Dollars) and the rest are Dansco. Intercept doesn't show me anything special over Dansco.
