Hey guys'.... Soooo I'm coming to Longbeach! Jack and I have been talking about it and he has decided to fly me down for the show, and a lil' poker with Rick, Jack @ www.mesacoin.com, PennyLady, and I'm sure a few others. The flight is courtesy of a "buddy pass" and he usually uses it for family, but could not resist meeting "Snaz". I am absolutely ecstatic and we booked the flight tonight. See you guys in a month! So, whose all going? I'm pumped to meet you guys.. I'll be the young guy wearing a CT shirt! THANK YOU SO MUCH JACK! I owe you big time!
Yep, it's a done deal. Snaz, my advise, practice your poker game as Rick and Charmy are SHARKS, lol:kewl: We'll sneak a game in for sure. You will also meet another cointalker AZMark, my silent lurking partner, and a whole mess from the PCGS forums. I'll top this weekend off with some AZ home cooking, so practise up on your hotsauce tolerance as well.......I cook with heat bud. Serious. This is a real treat for me, as this will be the 3rd CT'er I have taken to this LongBeach show. Working in the airline industry does have it's perks at times.
on a car, plane, tricycle? and I see it's May 28th-30th, which is great, since I start taking my one class at SCC on June 1.
Show is the last Thur'/Sat in May My Truck.......we are driving from Phoenix. Snaz gets here Wednesday afternoon. We will leave Wednesday after I pick him up, or, Thursday EARLY depending on his flight's ontime status. I imagine after 6 hours in a plane seat, Snaz might want to relax a night and hit it in the morning, either way, we will arrive at the show Thursday before noon.....I have a date with a girl named Heritage that afternoon
I'm so excited! Gonna meet Magman too? Nice, Yeh that flight is going to be long.... annndd My first flight ever. So it will be an experience. Hopefully I get a window seat! haha
Looks like it is. I'm planning on going. It would be great to have a CT reunion. Kudos to AJ for helping Snaz out with the ticket. That is very cool.
awesome! I can't wait to meet you guys! You guys are going to be the first CT'ers I've met. I'm looking forward to it. Thanks jack!
I'm looking forward to meeting more CoinTalkers too - it's always nice to put the face with the blogname! And don't forget - I serve wine, cheese and crackers every day around 2pm at the show. I don't get out from behind my table as much as I would like, so make sure you stop by my table (848) and introduce yourselves!! Right now, I'm at the Central States show in Cincinnati and had a wonderful dinner at a fantastic Brazilian restaurant with Rick, my son Troy, and a few others. Then we stopped by at the hotel bar for a couple drinks before snooze time. Troy, my 22-year old son, was game enough to help me out at this show, even though he's not a coin-guy. He even was gracious enough to sit through a 2-hour dinner with a bunch of coin people talking coin talk! I made some major purchases today, including the most amazingly violet toned proof 1872 2 cent NGC PF66 RB and a gorgous 1916 PCGS PF65 BN Matte Proof Lincoln (photos to be posted soooooon!). I also bought a beautifully toned 1872/1xx2 S-1 NGC MS65 BN for my own private collection that I am so jazzed about (again, photos to follow soon). I'll have to bring these coins to Long Beach just to show them off!! Any way, can't wait for Long Beach to see/meet all you fellow CoinTalkers - see you then - time to get some sleep while I get used to this 3-hour time difference!!!
Charmy I was on Heritage Live this morning as the Indians, Flying Eagles and Lincolns were auctioned......I just knew you and Rick would be there. I did snag a Mint State 14-D in a PCGS holder for a wantlister, but knew better than to go heads up with the pros....I stuck to my area and am happy. There were some beauty proofs ( looked like you pic'd a few ), but I'd rather drool at your case in person. the softness of the SVDB's was sort of troubling in a way, but for collectors, now is the time to BUY !!
I am so jealous that you guys get to hang out and play poker and talk about coins. I am stuck working 50-60 hours a week on the east coast. It is so bad, I am only playing poker 2 nights a week now. Depressing.
You have yet to see my beginners luck at the table, Jack But anyhoo, I'tll be fun to meet more CT'ers for sure! So far I've only met Jack and Acanthite.
Hey folks, tonight in Cincinnati after the show and after dinner, Rick and I were able to serve a can of whoop-axx at the POOL tables. Unfortunately, one of the guys on the other end of the whoop-axx was my 22-year old son! But Team Eagle Eye left with our pool cues smoking! The show, though still not great, picked up some steam today and I have hopes of it being even better since Saturdays are usually busy collector days. Then we catch our plane back to sunny California! See you all in a couple weeks!
Keep it up Jack... I just raked in 400 last night in a ring game, short stack buy in with 60$ with high stack sitting at 850$ I'm, practicing up.... Can't wait to meet you guys Magman and Charmy!
I need to start finding out about these things earlier. LB is only a five hour drive, but I need at least two months notice to get a day or two off work. I guess if I weren't six months behind in my Coin World mags I might have known. Oh well, maybe next year. Guy~
