Hello. I have a question about the peace, keelboat, and bison nickels. Does anyone know how many sets of these nickels were produced to be sold from the mint or where I can get this information. Any help is appreciated. Thank you. -Dallas
Here r some from the mint, not sure which ones! http://www.usmint.gov/search/index.cfm?action=searchResults
Here is a link that takes you directly to the past few years of coin production figures! http://www.usmint.gov/about_the_mint/coin_production/index.cfm?action=production_figures You will find that despite fewer keelboats beeing made than peace medals, the peace medals are more expensive, which still baffels me.
I'm not sure what question you are asking here. Are you asking how many 2 rolls sets of the coins for each series was sold by the mint or are you asking for the mintage numbers for each series ?
Sorry for the confusion....how many 2 roll set of the coins for each series did the mint sell. Thank you. -Dallas
Took a bit of doing but this should be what you want to know - 2004 Peace Medal nickel 2 roll sets sold - 160,468 2004 Keelboat nickel 2 roll sets sold - 169,555 2005 Bison nickel 2 roll sets sold (as of 6/14/05 ) 654,401 Now that you have this info, I don't know what you're going to do with it. But in all honesty, it has no bearing whatsoever on the price of these 2 roll sets.
You can find it in Numismatic News - they publish all of the sales and mintage numbers on a week by week basis. But if you want to find anything but current info you have to save the old issues. I will never be able to say this enough times - subscribe to Numismatic News and Coin World - and READ them, cover to cover, every week along with as many books as you can possibly afford. Give up buying coins for a while and spend the money on BOOKS & PUBLICATIONS !!
