One dealer told me that there are two 2Rupee commomerative coins ('Land Vital Resources' and 'National Resources Conservation') issued by the Govt . of India. I wanna know whether this is true and also, if it is true, where can i get of these... please someone help me..
Howdy...welcome to the the forum....I moved your thread to CoinChat where more people will see it... Speedy
Thanks speedy... actually i just browsed and entered this website... and thanx once again for moving my thread to coinchat....
Actually there have been more than a dozen 2 Rupee commems issued from 1982 through 2003, the last year reported in the 2005 Standard Catalog of World Coins. Some unusual subjects have been covered - "Small Family Happy Family" in 1993 for example, along with more traditional ones - such as "IX Asian Games" in 1982, and "Death of Indira Ghandi", in 1985. The closest I've found to your inquiry are "Water for Life", 1994; or "Globalizing Indian Agriculture", 1995. If I wanted to buy that type of coin I would do a search on EBay, and visit the websites of as many dealers in world coins as I could find. I would also ask any dealers that I have a relationship with to keep their eyes open for such coins as well. Good luck my friend.
thanx for ur comments friends... I'll keep my eyes open if ever i come across such a type of coin... once again thanx to u all
There were two cu-ni 2 Rupee coins in 1993. One (KM#124.1/124.2) was the "Small Family Happy Family" in two versions. One was minted in Bombay, and is valued at 50¢ VF, 90¢ XF and $1.50 Unc. The other, produced at England's Heaton Mint, is listed at $2 VF, $3 XF and $5 Unc. No mintage is given for either, but presumably the Heaton version had the smaller production. 1993 also saw production of a World Food Day coin (KM#125.1/125.2) honoring Bio Diversity. There are Bombay and Heaton versions of this one too, with the same valuations and lack of mintage figures as the pro-birth control issue.
