This will be a very interesting auction to watch -- top-pop FB 1916 mercs don't surface very often.... Any guesses as to the final hammer price?
BTW - one of the unique things about this coin is the supurb lines and sperations in the hair on the brow of the portrait. Its must unusual to see that kind of detail, even in a MS68 coin. Ruben
Ruben, While I like your pick of a full band top pop first year of issue Mercury Dime and it is a beauty, I have to put the following coin in the running. Anyone searching for the perfect Walking Liberty Half Dollar type coin should seriously consider buying this coin. Amazing surfaces, luster, and eye appeal. I can't even imagine how beautiful this coin is in hand. All with a population of 19/0 in MS68. http://coins.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=1124&hdnJumpToLot=1&Lot_No=2883 If I pass on the Lafayette, this coin will reside in my collection.
