I was hoping it would come back a Cameo.as you can see in the B&W photo it is.I do not know why NGC did not note it I asked for detail & paid for Detail.
I like that one a lot Spock, but I also like the LP-17 design with the Eagle. I think they are both excellant, but from what I have read, the committee is leaning towards yours. Chuck
Wow Thad. Assuming you got these from rolls. Makes me want to pursue memorials more! These being a lot of the Memorials you posted. Where do you get them if not for rolls, in such high grades?
I buy and search a lot of OBW rolls....and I mean A LOT. Collectors of the future can cuss me now for cracking open hundreds of OBW rolls....POOOF....GONE and cherry-picked. LOL
Here is my latest. The luster isn't much (at least on the reverse) and the color almost looks like Deller's Darkener, but it is solidly struck. Abe has a complete full beard. I know my pix do not show it all, but it is really there - every whisker. BTW, I have never had one of those old rattlers. Never realized how thin they really are.
Mr. McQueen, Sweet 1919d. Interesting rims on it as well. Nice! I don't have the camera equipment that you guys have. Wish I had something that would gimme photos like those! Most of mine are in albums in bank, but I have a few slabs at home. Chuck
I got the 1911 from Huntsman over a year ago, finally took it out for pics. Yes, I paid him " silly " money for it, lol. It's a keeper. The 32-D came from a set I bought on the bay a cpl years ago for a song, it was in a Library of Coins album........It has been dipped many years ago ( look at the pinkish middle, learn that look and remember it ) but still a stunner in hand. Here is a link to Todds site, Charmy and I both use him. http://www.bluccphotos.com/ (Just to keep it fair, LeeG also does photos professionally but I dont have his site. Send him a PM, he also works for David Lawrance and is a top notch coin shooter )
And last but not least, a pair of pics I took myself: 1915 PCGS Ms-65 BR thru a slab, it looks much more like the 1911 but I just cannot get the color. They are twins in hand.
SMS Cameo is a really tough coin. They are also tough to image. I'm not seeing a cameo obverse but you have the coin in hand.
I payed for Details I know on any of 65-67 SMS it is hard to get. I think NGC cheated me this time! I had resubmit may 1965 KD 2 times to get Cameo I may resubmit the cent thur R&I they seam to get the grade that I wanted easy.
I don't think it will matter who sends it in. It's going to have to be a solid cam on both sides. I would guess it would be a $1500 coin if it did get it. Wish you luck.
AJ- if you send coins to Todd how much does it cost and how long to get back the coin roughly if you live on the west coast like me? I love that 1911 and 1915. Amazing. 1919 D is very nice. I got to post some of my new ones when I get time.
