Could this make XF?

I think the reverse is XF, but I'm not so sure if the obverse keeps it to a VF.

I'm new at grading Lincoln's, but I know that this couldn't make XF at all

 

I would think the rim ding would knock it out.

 

That is real close, but I think it would go for a 35. Close, but no cigar.

 

Sorry but I can't see it going above VF-30...especially since it appears to have had a cleaning!

Vf-30.

 

All my old pictures of copper have that look to them. It has not been cleaned.

 

Both sides look high VF to me.

That Lincoln has not seen XF since 1949 at least.

I would go Fine at best.

 

It is a high grade VF, close to an XF, but the definition between the cheek and jaw is not quite enough and the right wheat stalk has the tiniest rub. I'd call it VF-35.

 

Too much wear for EF. The separation of the cheek/jaw makes it technically VF. I've had some similar to this graded and would expect VF-25/30 or so from a TPG.

 

I agree with the others, VF.

 

If it were a key date most services would call it xf however.

 

High-end VF IMO. I'd need to see the coin in hand to be sure, but it seems to be lacking the luster of an XF.

 

Do XFs need to have luster?

 

I'm thinking a VF-20.

 

This is very close to XF details wise. I agree with VF-35. However, the surfaces don't appear original to me.

 

Possibly but nor required and definitely not typical for Lincolns.
