It looks like a clashed die. Cool find! My understanding is...this is caused when the die closes down with no planchet between them. This results in the reverse image being stamped onto the obverse die.
Yes, depending on how badly clashed. I wonder if it would be possible to create a set of clashed die lincolns like this. one easy way to determine market for them is an ebay completed items search.
Jessash, Congrats on your find! That is a nice Die Clash! There are folks that collect coins with Die Clashing in any denomination, Series and Type that they can find and afford. Coins with significant Die Clashing are highly sought after but the creams of the crop are the coins that have Dates or any Lettering or both in combination with Clashed details. I just sold a nice Seated Liberty Half Dime that had significant Die Clashing and a Clashed Date. Another one I sold, not only had Miss Liberty's Shield clashed on the Reverse, much of her details were visible along with quite a few Stars. Frank
