Just won this at auction last night and I'm stoked! 3 oz. of pure silver... it appears cleaned, but I'm hoping the relief is as crazy as it looks in the pics. Here are the dealer's pics... mine will be better.
3 oz, It must be nice in hand. Do you know the diameter of this coin ? It looks fairly thin so it has to be fairly large. Congratulations man
er y not devote ur energies for more pics of the others some of us are waiting more than others u know :hammer:
Well, I'm at work at the moment... oddly, the boss frowns on it when I leave and go home to play with my coins.
oh well when u get home then if i had coins like that i wouldnt have a boss wait a minute i dont have a boss
3 oz. boy that's massive :goofer:. Great buy Scott :thumb: This souvenir would have fitted nicely with my 1973 stamp year set. Man if I only knew about the auction.
Heh, was a busy weekend! Wait... are looking for pics of that Indian coin lot I bought or this medal? I don't have this medal in hand yet, but I DID manage to go through that Indian lot last night. It was late and I was going to post the dealer pics for you at least, but they are really low-res so I figured I'd take some pics tonight... I promise! The dealer was fairly accurate in his grading in my opinion, but I'd be interested in hearing your opinion. There are a fair number of AU and Unc coins in the lot, and quite a few are all toned up (some attractive, some not so much). There are a few VF and XF coins there as well, but as I said, I paid a fraction of 2007 KM prices and we both know those prices are quite low to begin with. For example, the 1916B Rupee is probably VF or XF but I got it at almost melt... crazy.
dea aslan i have already seen the pics of this medal. coins the 40 or so u bought rmemeber those !!!!! yes yes i am all pumped up BTW i have writtent he introdction for the book - first draft will write the other lists that we agreed upon and send it you and joe
Okay, I took the pictures last night and edited a bunch... hopefully I'll get the rest finished tonight. They're fairly large (1024 x 768) so I'll have to host them locally and post the links... again, later tonight. Be patient.
I'm posting these mostly for Spock, but if you have an interest in Indian coins, feel free to take a look. Bear in mind that the 2 Anna coins are tiny and don't look as nearly as impressive when blown up so high! lol A few have some impressive die cracks, and almost all of them (especially the older ones) are toned. I'm not sure if I like the toning on most of them, but at least it tells me that they haven't been tampered with much. Also, bear in mind that I always call the date side the obverse, ever if it isn't correct... Anyway, enjoy: 1835 Quarter Rupee Obverse 1835 Quarter Rupee Reverse 1835b Half Rupee Obverse 1835b Half Rupee Reverse 1841b Two Annas Obverse 1841b Two Annas Reverse 1841b Two Annas Obverse II 1841b Two Annas Reverse II 1862c Two Annas Obverse 1862c Two Annas Reverse 1874b Two Annas Obverse 1874b Two Annas Reverse 1877c Two Annas Obverse 1877c Two Annas Reverse 1886c Two Annas Obverse 1886c Two Annas Reverse 1891b Two Annas Obverse 1891b Two Annas Reverse 1896c Quarter Rupee Obverse 1896c Quarter Rupee Reverse 1898b Quarter Rupee Obverse 1898b Quarter Rupee Reverse 1898c Two Annas Obverse 1898c Two Annas Reverse 1899b Half Rupee Obverse 1899b Half Rupee Reverse 1901c Two Annas Obverse 1901c Two Annas Reverse 1907b One Anna Obverse 1907b One Anna Reverse 1908c Two Annas Obverse 1908c Two Annas Reverse 1916b One Rupee Obverse 1916b One Rupee Reverse 1929 Two Annas Obverse 1929 Two Annas Reverse 1934c Quarter Rupee Obverse 1934c Quarter Rupee Reverse 1939b Two Annas Obverse 1939b Two Annas Reverse 1944b Half Rupee Obverse 1944b Half Rupee Reverse 1944l Half Rupee Obverse 1944l Half Rupee Reverse 1945b Half Rupee Obverse 1945b Half Rupee Reverse 1945b One Rupee Obverse 1945b One Rupee Reverse 1946 Quarter Rupee Obverse 1946 Quarter Rupee Reverse -
u have no idea how much money u could have made if all of these were unc probably got a few UHR in exchange very nice :thumb:
Yeah, I hear ya... What do you mean by UHR? In hand, I thought some of these would grade MS but now after looking at the enlarged pics, I'm not so sure. Do you think any of them would grade MS?
