Not sure where this posting fits. Mods, feel free to move if needed.

Saw a reproduction of the VDBrenner Lincoln plaque that was discussed about a month ago (http://www.cointalk.com/forum/t49108/)

The guy is asking $500 for it. Not sure how old it is, looks like probably the 1950's or so. He was very clear that it is a reproduction, he said the limited originals sell for +/-$5,000.

What do you think of the price of this repro? Being a real impulse buyer I'm sort of proud of myself that I walked away.

$500 seems steep for a reproduction, unless its rare in its own right.

Yea, my thoughts exactly. I'm searching the internet to see if I can learn anything. Thanks for the input

    Check with Chuck on www.coppercoins.com
He is an artist and has made some paintings and/or those reproductions of Lincoln. He is a well known Lincoln Authority and should know about those reproductions you mention.

Thanks JC, I will. He and I exchanged emails recently regarding EAC.
