    cool :) the article mentiosn Susan Maltby. I consulted with her on the epic post of mine :D

    so the name of the test is Beilstein ... i was oooo so close lol (ok, maybe not)

    Thanks guys. Daggarjon I had already bookmarked your thread, but I didn't get around to read it yet. Blame it on the finals :eek:

    That test looks accurate enough, but I'd probably stick to the stretch test, hehe. Problem is the ocean between me and the plastic pages...

    I do think I have some coins with that green stuff :headbang: quite possibly I had already bought them contaminated by PVC when I was a kid. I believe everything I bought after my undergrad was like this:

    "Polyester (MylarTM) hard to stretch hard to initiate a tear; once tear begins material tears easily; tear has a rough edge"

    But it's quite possible that the pages I bought when I was in middle school were stretchy. I can't possibly blame myself, but it sucks anyway...

    Good news is most of my valuable coins are in velvet trays :thumb:
