Considering 2 of the 3 1950 D's were AU/BU condition, I consider that pure luck. Someone dumped a collection and didn't know what those coins were. I was really satisfied when I flipped the circulated 50 D, fully expecting an empty space. But there it was. In fact, the damaged 1950 D I set aside thinking it was a 1990 Jefferson for my roll collection. 3 days later I noticed the date...and the mm. Crazy how that happens.
PS - I found a 1938 S in AU condition too...but spotted. That may have been released because of the spots, but upon closer examination, it was a DDO.
I bet that made your day! 1950 nickel had me searching for it. Thought I found one. Too bad I searched the whole day of nickels. Apparently it was a Coin Dream. Haha! I still look around the house once in awhile
Avoid the coin nightmare if you can. Many of us set aside an important coin only to roll it up...and take it to the bank.
Looks like you snagged one of the big dogs of Lincolns though! Did You find that 1972 CRH? Looks circulated.
Yeah $50k worth of nickels. I just finished my 751st box of cents a bit ago. I've searched around $100k in dimes. Probably around that in quarters and about $500k in half dollars.
So If you had 5 boxes of halves 20 boxes of nickels, 10 boxes of dimes 50 boxes of pennies. What would You search?
