PFFFFFFFFFFffffffffffffffffffffffffff...................................... Dude, I want my cent rolls. I ordered my specially wrapped cent rolls on march 19. I checked the site and it says that they are sold out. Now when I check my order it says "In stock and reserved" but man, does that make me wonder.

So to an actual question other than my ranting.......Does anyone believe that this is a sure sign that the cent rolls will be worth any more than you bought them for? On another note, when stuff sells out within 3-5 months of becoming available, is that a decent indicator that your buy will up in value? Does that show what kind of market is looking at the particular coin?

I JUST GOT MY TRACKING # TODAY. FINALLY!! I ORDERED 2 SETS AND I HAD TO SELL BOTH ON EBAY AS 1 SET BROUGHT $112 AND THE OTHER I ACTUALLY DID A FOOLISH BUY IT NOW FOR $79.95. I HATE TO NEVER EVEN GET TO OPEN THE BOX TO AT LEAST SEE THE ROLLS BUT IM SAYING TURN AROUND ON 8.65 THAT QUIK AND HIGH WAS WORTH IT!! BESIDES I PURCHASED A BOX OF 50 P MINT ROLLS AT A VERY MODEST PRICE AND I FEEL THAT DOWN THE ROAD ITS GONNA MATTER THE COINS CONDITION RATHER THAN THE WRAP? I HOPE MY THINKING IS CORRECT FOR ME IN THE LONG RUN! (SORRY FOR ALL CAPS BUT ITS JUST EASIER AS I SUCK AT TYPING)

Your rolls are deffinantly not forgotten and will prob. be on the way this week as I put my order n after the first mint shipping delay.

    Sincerely,

    Richard

First, as long as you placed your order before they sold out, you should be ok. The mint has been on a serious lag since the new year. There were some people that had their orders canceled by accident and they may not get their order, but as long as yours still says in process and in stock, you should be good.

Something I have learned these past few years is that there is no sure way of gauging whether or not a coin or set will go up in value. Many coins like the ASE 06W went way up and now has come down. The 2001 Sac Proof went way up and now it has come down. I guess this Lincolns have gone way up too, but I suspect that they too will come down to respectable prices. Now, will they always be worth more than the other non-2009 Lincolns..... I can't tell you that, but they most likely will be worth a tad more at the very least. And if you decide that those darn Lincoln rolls are too much, then you can send on this way! ;)

Be glad you don't get to open them. Very disappointing. The wrappers are not very neat and the end coins are gouged by the wrapping machine.:headbang: Other that that Spectacular!

HMMMMMMM.....that sounds like alot of the rolls from the $25 dollar box I bought.Alot of the rolls the end coin had 2 half scratched semi circles on one side. Thanks for letting me know I am not missing something overly spetacular.

I would love to see an actuall picture of the mint rolls besides the U.S. mints stock photo, if you or anyone else had a chance to post one.

    Sincerely,

    Richard

I will most likely just reformat this question on a more official post, but here goes...........

So what would you all rather keep for long term? Obviously I think most here would say that if you can sell your 2008 ASE proofs for $90+, then go for it as the price right now is all hype due to the fact that 2008 ASE have the highest mintage ever from ASE's. But now we have something different, I could be wrong but I believe there are only 100,000 of the two-set rolls sold. That is unusually low for pennies. All for a special wrapper. Would you wait tp keep these things for the long hall. After all, over time these would become increasingly more rare, it's not the coins we are after here, it s the wrapping paper. Paper is a lot harder to keep in mint condition, selling from one person to the next, having people stupidly opening them. I can see this coin with wrappings still in mint condition going for quite a pretty penny 50 years from now................

I received my sets about 2 weeks ago. I had ordered 2 sets the first day of sale about 5 after 12 P.M. I only ordered 2 sets as I thought the premium was alittle high. Boy was I wrong. After I received them I looked on Ebay and listed the sets as BIN for $90 a set. Within 2 hours they were gone. I guess fools part with their money easy.
Like others are saying that is a high price to pay for a wrapper. I will wait until the second set comes out or maybe the third and I will buy the first set with the Stringer wrapper or maybe by then my bank will have them for face. I think when all the cents finally get released by the mint it may take 50 years to get $90 for a P & D set of Lincoln cents.
