Well due to being in a car wreck a month ago, I havent been on in a very long time, and i've just broken out of the hospital so im just checking out the threads, and seeing whats new. Anyways the point of this thread is to just start a discussion. So if money was no problem " and i mean no problem" and you were able to get your hands on a series that you've always dreamed of.... what would it be? also it would be cool to include photos if you can. so get the ball rolling......... and im very curious as to what RickieB is gonna say his dream series is "being that it seems he has every series "
If I had unlimited funds, I think a set of 1869 rainbow notes would be what I'd go after. Here is an example of one that I found on a website a while back:
Whoops-- I didn't notice that this was in the paper money forum. In that case, I would have to say the Educational series
Warbird... Sorry to hear of your accident and I am glad to know that you are ok! Sounds as though you may be due a huge insurance settlement? Well first off, I wish I had every Series, that is a collectors dream to have one of everything right? Second, what I like and what anyone else likes is a totally personal thing as well. What I will say is that in collecting, and this is in regard to any collectable, find what you are truly interested in and set your goals. Regardless of what others may be doing. Sounds like you have some Great coins in mind and I would really enjoy seeing them as your collection grows. As for Papermoney, well my friend, the sky is the limit right? My motive has not changed from the original plan, providing something for my Son when he turns into a young man, Simply put, the collection is only mine to establish and pass on. The pleasure for me in this is huge since my Dad abandoned our family so long ago when I was 8. This is not about RickieB, it is about RickieB's son AJ. So for him one of his dream set's is the Series 1869 Rainbow Notes as our friend RichieB has posted. Just the $1, $2, $5 and $10 will cost you about $35K in a 64 Grade...and when you do get to the higher denoms like the $100 then get ready to shuck out well over 200K for a Gem Example. SO I would suppose that Dream Notes would be any of the Early Large Size Legals, Silvers, Treasury or Gold notes. Good luck with the collection and I do hope your recovery is going well. Glad to see you back:smile :smile Regards, RickieB
Sorry to hear that you had a accident and hope that you are now well on the way to recovery Ok so what would I buy Honestly I dont know LOL I would proberly run round the shop going gimme gimme
Well, since I like small size notes best, my dream series would be a complete set of 1934 series Gold Certificates.
