These two appear to be roughly similar, but the left-hand three characters above the General's profile on 1A are not as heavily struck as the right-hand four, and the only character matches between these two faces are the right-hand four, but even those are by a different 'hand'. Their weight, diameter & thickness also vary: #1 is 24 grams, 39.1 mm dia, 3.0 mm th; #2 is 27 grams, 38.9 mm dia, 2.5 mm th. Your opinions, please?
I can't make out the date of the counterfeit first one, which has the typical weight of a Chinese counterfeit. It is, or course, supposed to be a Chinese Republic 1 Yuan (Dollar) of Yuan Shi Kai, which would be from the 19-teens. The possibly genuine, but suspect, second one is dated Republic Year 3 (1915) and has an OK weight, but I'm away from my references and can't check carefully. Things to look for, in addition to the calligraphy, include the markings on his epaulets, the visibility of any medalls on his chest and the clarity of the denticles.
