I'm not sold on any but the top and bottom of the four. I like the eagle the best of those two, but I'm not sure how good it will look on such a small coin. Now that I have stated what ones I like the best so far, you can be sure those won't be picked. The American flag is a good idea, just not that flag in my opinion.
i cant find the babrer design so if someone else can it would be great but here all of the se would look good on the cent http://www.coin-collecting-guide-for-beginners.com/gold-us-coins.html
None of them are very inspiring. i think the flag would be the most emblematic of the preservation of the union but the depiction is a bit one dimensional. Perhaps if it were blowing in the wind it would work.
Hmmm None of the four designs seem to really grab me. What about something like the IHC reverse, with the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA across the top as shown in LP-02 and using the same font size for ONE CENT at the bottom like LP-10. And use a slightly smaller shield and wreath like the pic in the center. Thoughts?
I wonder if the mint said OK Coin Talk members the decision for 2010 reverse will be made by you. I wonder if we could ever come up with an agreement, but if we did I'm sure it would be spectacular.
I agree about the HS art context also. As for as the capitol bldg design goes, one reason I like it over the others is that it's off center. Other than the state quarters, the last off-center design I can think of was Ike/moon landing. And so, I kinda like the capitol one, although it does seems like it was "the safe" design.
i like the eagle the best and the shield is cool too. the flag design is just too boring, it would be better if the flag was waving in the wind. and im tired of buildings. JMO
Whichever is the worst design, is the one the mint will go with. They seem to have a history of ignoring what the public finds appealing....... or at least those of us here on CT. But our opinions should matter most.
Joe, my thoughts exactly, now we would have some great coin designs out there for the American public.
I'm relishing the peace and quiet for this brief time. I like the Eagle design and would like to see other eagles submitted for consideration. Bruce
I like the capitol building one. I think it would look best on the reverse but I'd like to see the other designs as well.
