yes, they are worth something. these are rough estimates.

the 3 cent piece would be worth 20-25 dollars.

for the 1883 nickel, could you plese give us a picture of the back side of the coin. we need to know if it has the words CENTS or not.

for the indian head cent, from what i can see, i would say its worth 25-30 dollars.

and i dont know about the shield nickel, because i need a picture of the other side.

    nice coins

    ya, those are the pics.

The 1867 shield nickel would probably go for around 25 bucks.

The liberty nickel would probably go for around 7 bucks.

    Hope this helps :)
Could Some one else please confirm these prices.

Thanks Mike. Where is the best place to try and sell them? ...ebay, or my local coin shop?

    Heres a suggestion.
Once you accumulate 10 posts, you could post your coins and prices in the open forum and see if you get an offer by private message. If you still have the coins after about a week of the posting, then go for ebay. This is what I would do.
    good luck

Really, I'm surprised they price so high.

I agree, the price estimates seem too high, considering that the Shield nickel is corroded, the 3-cent piece is a common date in probably Fine, and the 1861, while it is the key of the Indian head copper-nickel shield-in-wreath cents, would be lucky to grade Good.

I don't have grade sheets, but my basic understanding is that shield nickels are generally not that much in demand (when compared with Mercs or Buffalo nickels etc)

I think one problem with the Shield nickels is that, while they're a short series, there are some dates that put a date collection out of reach for most collectors. Also, for some reason, this series seems more prone to corrosion than later nickel series, so it requires more attention to storage methods.

Well, the last year might be unfair to the average collector :)

thanks guy's. I figured my prices were a bit high. They were just estimates. What changes would you make to my prices?
