Found this coin on E-bay today. Not in the greatest shape but being an R-5 coin I got it anyway. There are a couple of these for sale on e-bay for $150 to $175 in about the same shape. That might be a bit too optimistic but I think its worth more than what I got it for. 6DB45754-6DD5-4AC9-8F0F-00D5AAF5CA7E.jpeg FA9A638A-536E-48FA-958B-C6FCEE8D0D7D.jpeg

@jerryc39 Nice coin. Nothing really matter with the condition. If I collected
large cents and I did buy a few 40 years ago this one would be one of the two
or three hi-lites of the group. Very nice. Congrats!

Nice pickup! That variety is pretty hard to find in better condition.

    NICE!!!
I'll take an R-5 any day.
I've got a Red Book set of Braided hair large cents, but haven't tried to ID the Newcomb numbers yet.
There are LOTS of varieties and some can't easily be identified if the coin is any less than AU.
I've got Grellman's book and a stereomicroscope so someday I'll start trying and see what I can come up with.

It's kind of fun looking around for unattributed ones. Not easy to do but fun when you get one right.
