    opinions? I like :)

I have the 2, but not the $20. What i like most about them ... they fall into the range i usually buy lol

    Very nice pickups!!

    For the $2, i might go VG8. For the $20, maybe a F12.

    John...

2 of my favorite notes!! The "Mini Porthole" and the $20 Transportation Theme Series 1914.
I will estimate that the $2 is in Good to VG -VG on the $20 (edited for typo)
Is that a small stain on the $20 or a light burn mark?

Not sure in those grades...love the notes, man what a story they can tell huh?

    Great pickups!

Apparently my grading skills still aren't the strongest, as unlike everyone else so far, I'd've rated the $2 *higher* than the $20: perhaps Fine for the former and VG for the latter. The $2 just has nice even wear; the $20 has a very prominent horizontal crease, a few stains, an edge nick or two, and an abrasion at the L of FEDERAL--how is all of that not lowering its grade to y'all?

I would tend to agree with you...at a minimum I would grade them both as VG and would not put the $20 higher than the $2 as it has too many issues.

After looking at these notes and comparing to graded notes...I am of the opinion that the $2 is VG10 at best...there are quite a few small margin tears/breaks and heavy paper breaks in that note. Not being critical by any means at all as I like both notes extremely well!

Depending on the stains on the $20 if they are indeed stains and not light burn marks (singeing) that remains as an unknown...I still think it would go from a VG to VG10 as well. (typo in earlier post...) The paper tears in the margin do reduce the note.

I pulled up a few graded notes on Heritage to compare and that is what it seems like to me. As with all grading, it is subjective at best...everyone will have a different opinion.
I am not too savy a grading well circulated notes as well. Heck I have a hard time with some AU notes in seeing the fault in them at all!

the 20 has much less wear from circulation and the $2 has several breaks in the paper from folding, where the $20 doesnt have nearly as many.

my guessed grades may not be spot on :) but the $20 is certainly a higher grade, if only by a little.

then again, grading is subjective :) and the notes in hand may look vastly different then the scans.

Thanks everyone. The consensus seems to be around VG 10 which is about what I thought. You're right Rickie, these worn notes are harder to grade than a crispy note. Looking at Heritage and the Bay I saw notes that looked better, graded VG10 and notes that look worse that are graded Fine. Those brown spots on the 20 are stains and not "burns". (Man, am I learning) . Again, Thanks everyone................................John
