Real nice one. I don't know how you fel about that slab, but it looks to me like it might be a good candidate for "scratch out" or similar. Look here;http://www.cointalk.com/forum/t48768-2/#post533334.
I have some McGuires plastics that I use from time to time that seems to work about the same. I just haven't got around to doing this guy yet.. hahaha
sweeet coin! I have a question for the Lincoln experts... Why does it seem thast commonly on the reverse of MS wheatback Lincolns there seems to be a scuff to the upper left of O in one. I have seen it on different dates on very high grade coins. Is it a weak part of the die, or is it that it is just not struck well due to this part of the design being opposite the shoulder on the obverse? I was just wondering what you guys knew about it.
The top left of the " O" is the area on the coin with the most metal displacement in the stamping process. Many times you will read comments such as " WOW, that O is hammered " It is also a very shallow ( on the die ) feature compared to the shoulder.
there is no bigger lincoln expert on the forum then AJ there isnt a better place to buy lincons then mesa coins. I endorse AJ for ethics, honesty, and integrity. P.S. unless u get the juiced bag from budgood that is but that was once in a life time deal did i tell u that the bag can still have 1955 DD in it?
Calm down Spock, I am FAR from expert. I do certainly appreciate the endorsement !! Can I put that on my biz card? LOL I think the more I learn, the more I dont know.
