proof set mintage 2007 proof set mintage is 1,717,972 2007 silver proof set is near 900,000. but still adding untill the 2008 issue start selling on aug.26,2008.
i thought 2007 proof set will be the winner. instead it was 2008. anyway both year were at very low mintages.
The 2008 clad proof set is currently selling at about $55 on ebay. I'm glad that I purchased three of them from the US Mint. I hope a similar trend occurs with the silver proof set. They need to get sold out first though. The 2007 clad proof set is currently selling in the low 30's on ebay. The 2007 silver proof set is selling for about the same price that its original mint price (mid to upper 40's).
this is the one that i make mistake and estimated wrongly. the 2008 five pieces statehood quarters set beat the 2007 in term of mintage. anyway. i got 30 set of 2008 and 150 set of 2007. the price for 2007 is not bad too.
When you say "the 2008 beat the 2007 in terms of mintage", I assume that you mean that it had a less mintage than the 2007. Correct?
yes. the complete mintages for 2007 vs: 2008. these were for the statehood 5 pc quarters clad proof set. 2007 - total 676,654 with original box and c.o.a. the price is higher than below. 2008 - total 672,438 with original box and c.o.a. the price is higher than below. 2007 - total 2,394,626 include clad proof set. now selling at $12.50 (skyline). without box & c.o.a. 2008 - total 2,078,112 include clad proof set. now selling at $39.95 (skyline). without box & c.o.a.
Elaine, I'm a little confused...the Red Book doesn't have a mintage figure for the 2007 Silver Proof set, but if gives a mintage for the 2007 Silver Dime and Half...at around 677,000. Since, the silver dime and half are unique to the silver proof set, wouldn't that suggest that the mintage of the 2007 Silver Proof set is the same? ...assuming the Red Book figure is accurate?
It seems like 2008 silver proof should be a winner but they're still selling them on the mint's website. I guess that they are not big with the collectors.
this thread originally is talking about the clad proof set. so i am confused and make mistake when we talk about silver proof set. o.k. for clad proof set. the winner is 2008 and followed by 2007. so i should said the 2007 clad proof set is the second best. as for the silver proof set. the lowest mintage is 1995 at 549,878. as for red book. the mintage and prices for red book is not accurate. the red book is very popular for use as a reference and guide. the book gave a lot regarding collecting coins. gave us knowledge and how to care coins.
