Which means that there are less than a million business strikes of each and less than a million satin finish strikes of each. (Mint sets was less than a million but over 800,000.)
but if you can find a much better condition in bags or rolls. that coin will worth very high. it is better than the mint unc set where most coins are in the ms67 and up.
kennedy half dollar mintage: year (P) ----- (D) 2002 3,100,000 2,500,000 2003 2,500,000 2,500,000 2004 2,900,000 2,900,000 2005 3,800,000 3,500,000 2006 2,400,000 2,000,000 2007 4,100,000 4,100,000 2008 1,700,000 1,700,000 2009 1,700,000 1,700,000
kennedy half dollars from year 2002 to current. in the future, these half dollar collector's coins might be one of the hottest u.s. coins.
usually in the other years - once the Mint makes the business strike Kennedy halves - thats it, they make no more. Now the 1.7 million for this year does not count the number of satin strikes they make for the mint sets at the end of the year Here is the mints mintage for this year and the past couple years http://www.usmint.gov/about_the_min...roduction_figures&allCoinsYear=2009#starthere
I'm just glad they keep making them. I've always been partial to half dollars, no matter which design. Many complain that the mint keeps producing these, but they are not making billions of them at a loss...and people are buying them.
