I got two 2005 Lincolns today in change, I know, no biggie but they we're my first. When we're these released for circulation? I keep getting 2004's like crazy. Anyways, happy hunting!
I picked up 4 uncirculated rolls at the bank last Thursday. I always ask the tellers if they have anything new, and that is what they had for me last week.
Me too! Four 2005 Lincolns in my pocket. First ones. One of them was nearly perfect. No marks or dings.
It would appear to me the U.S. Mint is catering to our friends out WEST? Guess it really does pay to be a cowboy? Apparently the Mint hasn't got word of my buffalo adventure in January but I am sure just as soon as they do I will make the official Old Dan's Cowboy list and then I will FINALLY be in line for V.I.P. service just like they do those great guys out west! I have waited all my life for this!
crystal, I'm from western PA, 15701 zipcode so maybe these will be out in full force in a week or two everywhere.
I’ve been finding the 2005D pennies in loose change for about 3 month. I'v even come across a couple 2005D nickels which I set aside. I live in Denver and think having the mint in my backyard has something to do getting the 2005 in early circulations. The downside is finding anything minted in Philadelphia. Since the mint will produce a few billion, I’m sure the 2005 pennies will start showing up in truck loads soon.
That's weird, I'm able to get as many boxes as I want. In fact I'm getting 4 boxes today. Also, I was talking to a guy in CA and he told me that he lives right around LA and can barely find any 2005 Nickels in all the banks out there! What's up with that? Why are small cities getting them and Larger Cities are having trouble? SM
StopMotion, are you going through the rolls or are you keeping or selling them at some point? If you are going through them, have you found anything out of the ordinary?
Actually right now I'm selling them, but I really haven't ever thought of looking through a box. Is it a good idea to look through a box or two? I do enjoy looking through coins! Any thoughts? SM
I really don't know what the odds are of finding anything unusual out of a new box. You might get lucky, then again you might not.
