A rather humble but important (to me) coin. It's the final coin to complete my matched silver Roosevelt set. Only a $20-25 coin, but it was the last needed. Now all my business strikes are PCGS or NGC MS-66. And all my proofs are PCGS or NGC MS-67.
Always feels good to complete something. That's why I love checklists. I'll write things like "Get out of bed" on them just so I can check something off sometimes. lol Congrats!
Congrats! the last coin might have been easy, but thats not to say the whole set was! Its a great feeling to finish a set... or so im told so, whats next??
Congratulations! A major accomplishment. Just curious, how long had you been working on it? A good lesson here for younger collectors, "Patience, young one, is it's own reward"
On a guess, 3-4 years. I started it because I believe silver Roosevelts are undervalued. (I feel the same way about MS-66 or -67 Jeffersons through about 1964.) Initially it was just going to be MS-65 or better. But then I got the idea for a matched set AND PCGS or NGC in case I wanted to do a NGC Registry set. So I decided MS-66 for business strikes and MS-67 for proof strikes. That means I had to do some TPG changes, upgrades and in maybe 4-6 cases some downgrades. LESSON LEARNED: Plan ahead so you don't waste time and money if you change your mind.
