Would a 1939 WB be of any value, at G or VG condition, if all the letters in US of A on the reverse are intact with the exception of the M (ie filled-die or etc)? It is circulated, uncleaned, and in average circ (considering it's age). Am I the most annoying new user yet? :-D
Most annoying new user ?? - Not even close But no - I do not think it would be of any particular value - certainly less than a dollar. Filled die errors are fairly common.
what about major filled die errors? i have a 195X wheatie that is missing the M in AMERICA completely, about 5 other letters on the back are just BARELY visible, and on the front, half of TRUST is gone and the last digit in the date is filled would there be any value there?
Unfortunately, die fills are not all that rare and as such, don't carry much of a premium. Occationally, a very dramatic die fill might garner a few more $$'s, but not often. Still, for those of us who look for, and hold onto, minor errors (some would say hoard ) fun finds.
