OK, so I got my first ever delivery of 10 rolls of Sac dollars from the mint ($250 for $250 -- free shipping) So, here's my dumb question: before I open them up, is there any way to know if they are 2009-P or 2009-D? They look like this -- wrapped by NF String:
Since the MM is on the edge, I know of no way to know what they are except to open one of them. Of the $500 I received, all the Denver coins.
Sure Mike: I used to use mine at the beach in the old days but in these modern times you just don't need 'em any more.
You should open at least one roll, the reason they are doing this is to get them in circulation, be patriotic and do your part.
Yes -- I will. (And good point) But do I know the other nine rolls are the same (in terms of which mint they come from?)
Direct ship rolls, are always from the same location. If your's are different, it will be the first time I've ever heard of it. And, since these are the same as what would normally be issued to a bank, there is little point in not opening them.
