http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wc...1&parent_category_rn=16238&top_category=16238 All rolls of Harrison dollars are sold out and bags were never produced. My guess is that we are deep enough into the series that few rolls were put away from banks. We may have a winner. Business strike (not satin) Harrison dollars may be the key coin.
seems likely. no one seems to care about these (small wonder though, since it is a failed coin denomination).
98 million is too many to be key in a series that is unlikely to have widespread collectors appeal. Besides as people hate them more and more, mintage will go down as the series drags on and on and on.
quarters: 1982-P 500,931,000 1982-D 480,042,788 http://cgi.ebay.com/1982-Washington...5|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318|301:1|293:1|294:50 try to find a roll of these.
What do you mean Business strike not satin? Cuz we have probably 8 rolls or so at work. I'm sure I could get more from our other branches too.
Business strike is hot off the presses at the US mint...what you see everyday in your change. Satin finish refers to what the mint puts into mint sets.
\ I am sorry but that is like comparing apples to oranges. The mint never sold any rolls of the quarters. The mint is selling the harrison rolls and most people just keep them in the rolls. I have never even got a dollar in change and the quarter are used all of the time. The new dollars don't circulate simple as that!! PS there is still crazy people out there!! http://cgi.ebay.com/1-Set-2009-P-D-...yZ166677QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
My point is that the mint really did not sell these. No bags, no boxes, only a very small amount of rolls, and like the 1982's none in mint sets. Also not many people are going out to the bank for these.
Discontinue the Dollar Bill in favor of the Dollar Coin, switch presses over to a $2 Bill. I'm willing to bet not many people walk around with $10 in dollar bills at any given time.
I spent time in Canada and like the loonie and twonie idea. Plus, they look more like chips at the cash game.
I LIKE using a dollar coin. Easier to pull a coin out of the pocket than pull out, open up a wallet, extract bill and put the wallet in your pocket again. And just about everything is 79 cents anyway.
I nabbed one of these near release day for my presidential dollar album, D mint...So far that's all I'm doing for the presidential dollar series.
Wow,:bigeyes::bigeyes::bigeyes: wish i had ordered a few rolls of them with some lincoln cents. i might have made enough to get me a new 24-s peace dollar in 63 grade.
The Twonie is the best looking coin we've had in a long time and it gets a lot of use in circulation. I'd even go as far to say it's the best looking coin in North America!
