I was going through some rolls of quarters. I found one 90% silver quarter (1948), and a 76 Bicentennial. Other than that there was nothing too special, but I think I might have found an error on one of the state quarters.

I posted the pic below (the only digital camera I have is the one on my phone, which sucks as you can see). The far left edge of the design is cutoff by an overlapping piece of coin material.

I went through 3 rolls and 18 loose halves at the bank and I came up with pretty much nothing. And it seems someone was marking the halves with a blue permanent marker.

Plowing through the last 16 boxes, of 26 total this week of halves.

The last 4 boxes, last night, had 100- 40%ers and a half dozen 1964.

A 1971 proof and a lot of great numismatics including wild MS variations of grease stamps and other BU minor errors. (what do you call the odd stuff?)

I really need to build a light box for pics.

New to this forum, In the last few weeks I have searched through adout $200-250 in pennies. Too many wheaties, 68-74 S's, BU Cents etc. to list. So I will list what I have found that is interesting.

    1. 1968 S Heavy doubling of entire date
looks almost identical to the example 2/3 the way down this page. http://koinpro.tripod.com/Articles/1...ledDieCent.htm

    2. 1970 S medium doubling south/southwest of the 970 on the date

    3. 1999 "P" minor- medium doubling southwest of "ONE CENT" of the reverse

4 1990 "P" minor doubling of TED STATES towards to rim of the coin

I can find no information of these on coppercoins.com , conecaonline.org , lincolncentresource.com or the Web in gerenal.

I did my usual 20 dollars in nickels yesterday. Not much to write home about, but here it is anyway:
    1941
    1948
    1952 D
    1958 D (2)
........hoping some day to find a buffalo nickel (the old type). Anybody like to comment on the odds of that ever happening

I have found two in about 15 boxes. One was dateless, but I nicked the date in vinegar and it turned out to be a 1913 type 2. The other was a 1935 in g4.

Finished a box of halves. It has been my first one in a few weeks, and I must say one of my best ones in a while. I found three 1968 D halves in it.

Thanks for the reply, the_man12. I did find one dateless buffalo in change in 2007. That's the last one I have seen.

My weekly $20 in nickels today brought a few interesting finds..

    1942
    1945-s

I go through rolls of nickels at work all the time and have never found one to be in a roll just when customers give change. Believe me I go through a lot of change.

I went though two boxes of halves and didn't find one coin worth keeping. I went to return them and as I was waiting for the teller to run the coins through the counting machine, I looked in her coin tray and saw nothing but silver edged halves. She traded me three one's for a 1963 Franklin, 1964 Kennedy, and 3 1968 Kennedy's and 1 useless 1988 Kennedy.

Apparently their machine spits out silver when it counts coins. They just save them in their trays until someone askes for halves which nobody does except me. :smile
