Driving back from an appt. today, I decided to hit all the banks on the way home for $2's and halves. Got a few here and there, nothing big. When I went to the local bank, they had 1 but told me to check with the drive through. Driving up I was thinking, watch this be the mother load. I asked if they had any $2's. Teller aske me how many I wanted. I said, I'll take them all. She asked again, how many do you want? I said I can probably get them all. With a smug look on her face she said oh, you want $354 worth. I was like if thats all you have, I'll take them all. Here are the 2 noteworthy (hahaha) finds. The green seal is from an uncut sheet.
WOW!!! Noost... What a story..:smile I bet you had a blast going through them huh?? Nice finds friend!! Thanks for sharing them.. RickieB
Very neat. At work today a customer deposited a $2 bill that has 6 zeros. Not consecutive. I can't remember how many leading 0's it has not more than 2 or 3 I think but I thought that it was neat that it had that many zeros and only 2 other numbers. It is a 2003 I think and has been folded do you think that it would be worth more than face with that many zeros?
Thanks everyone. It was a thrill and I couldn't wait to get home to check them. KdKenn-I think a note has to have at least 4 leading 0's to gain a premium. If the 2 other #'s are the same, then it is a binary and may command a premium. The fold knocks it down though. If you like it, for face, grab it.
Thanks I think I'll leave it. I don't have luck like some of you do finding other color seals at banks. Here I work at a bank and at my branch in the year and 8 months I've worked there we haven't had one come through.
It's an odds thing. I figured you would have better odds working at a bank. I guess more banks = better odds. This is the first time this has happened to me and I search so much most tellers in a 10 mile radius know my 1st name. It'll happen for you one day though, I am certain.
Thanks Daggarjon and Commidaddy. Ruben, I have alot of xtra time everyday now It didn't take long at all. I saw the misaligned cut on the $2 from an uncut sheet. Sorted them all by series, then branch and got out my books. I have a system.
i wonder why someone would cut up a sheet? it would seem like if someone had an uncut sheet, they would be a collector, and would know that they could get at least a small premium on it.
Oh, they were all on the main drag on the way home from a Doc. appt. In an out like the Flash as it was midday.
what happened to the lines? Any visit to a bank is 30 minutes with me more so if they have Tellers like kaidylied...
Well then, you either need to stop hitting on them or do it better. LOL J/K. I am from a rural area and there were only 5 banks today that I went to. I pass on by if they are busy and come back another day.
For sure! I can't even get in and out of my bank in less than a half an hour if I am waving a gun in the air! (By the way, that is in no way a serious comment, and should not be taken so. It is meant to be a joke. Please do not call the FBI. Thank you.) Jarrid
