1880 $5 liberty eagle ?

    The $5 gold coin is called a Half Eagle. The Eagle is a $10 gold coin.

    If genuine your heavily worn coin would be worth about $300. I have doubts your coin is genuine because the stars are misshapened and some details are missing or mushy (e.g., the front of Liberty's neck).

    What's the story behind this coin? Do you own it or are you thinking about buying it? If it is for sale where is the seller located and on what venue is it offered for sale? Have you verified the weight, diameter, etc.?
