OK, so I have collected Morgan's since I first got into this hobby, it is my favorite design. I have a couple with some minor toning, but nothing that I feel enhances the appearance of the coin. The other day I was lucky enough to win a contest here put on by flyers10 and become the proud new owner of a 1879-S Morgan. I could tell it had a little toning around the rim in the photo he posted...but I had no idea how nice it would look in hand. Not only did I not have an 1879-S yet, but this coin is the nicest toned Morgan of my collection so I had to post a new photo of it. I couldn't get the toning to look as great in the photos so I both took a picture and scanned it...so I think if you look at them both you can get an idea of the coin. There are subtle blues, reds, and yellows in the toning. It looks great. Thanks again flyers10!!!
Now that is a much better picture. I just put the coin up under my desktop light and took that picture. I knew my picture didn't do the coin justice and I figured you would be pleasantly surprised when you got the coin. Glad you like the toned beauty for your Morgan collection. You deserved it with your WW2 knowledge.
