Very nice 1998 WAM you have there! These varieties are quite easy to identify. There is quite a bit of information out there regarding the Wide AM variety, from checking the spacing between the A and M, to the spacing of the FG from the memorial. I have tried to get some of the copper "experts" to change their diagnosis tutorials to make it more than easy for people, but checking "spacing" seems to be the in thing. The initials (specifically the "G") is different between the two die varieties. On the Wide AM, the "G" is contains a serif pointing inward toward the half-circle of the G and one downward like a leg, like on the one you posted. Now, take another 1998 and look at the "G". Notice how there is no serif pointing inward toward the semi-circle "C" part of the G. As well, there is no downward "leg" like on the WAM. This is a very quick and very easy diagnosis (sometimes you will need a loupe) that anyone can do. As to value, it really determines how you sell it. In the condition it is in raw, I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to get $10 for it. More closeup pics would help in determining the actual condition of the coin. Nice find!
Jessash, Nice 1998 "Wide AM"! I agree with NPCoin and the price, although it could fetch a little more from the right buyer! Frank
Jessash, nice find. in roll searching you can find these from time to time, the 98 is harder to find then the 2000 wide AM, so be happy. The one you have is in great condition and you can check ebay to see what they are going for now. Keep looking, you never know what may turn up. Happy searching. Bill
Good going, nice find! Good going, nice find! I find generally about two or three a month but not in that shape.
Thanks everyone. If I can find anything, I usually will post it on this site. You guys seem to know your S...t. Se my new ones.....:eat:
