That would NEVER happen here. I like coins, but NO coin is worth my bike. Done.

The ONLY way I would trade my bike for a coin is if I was ripping it for enough that I could sell the coin, buy another bike, then have profit left over.

A 1909S VDB?? mmmm....okay, but those are very overpriced and overvalued. If it's what you want, I can understand, but even a Harley is a better investment than that coin.

Awesome another Harley Rider in the fold. Welcome back Chuck. Nothing better then the roar of a Harley.

My wife says I look like someone not to be messed with...I just like to enjoy the road, don't much care what I look like.

I'm going on a ride the 19th....cycle safety awareness ride that will stretch out over about 75 miles of local roads. Probably hundreds will attend.

Biggest ride I ever did....November last year I was in the "teddy bear" run in Sarasota Florida. Over 1,500 bikes in attendance!!! That was wild! We made a line going through town that was over five miles long! It took fifteen police bikes to escort all of us.

Best part was that over 1,500 stuffed animals and tens of thousands of dollars went to the kids. Every bike had a stuffed animal on it that was purchased by the rider and donated at the stopping point.

Riding is something that once you get it in your blood, it doesn't come out. Permanent, indelible mark made in your soul. I love it!

I agree with that, I just have too many hobbies lol...guitars, coins, riding, gaming...just too many lol.

I actually used to live in Sturgis, SD, that's where I got my education in riding so to speak. Saw a lot of things in that town.

About the 1909 S VDB...I'm really just afraid that they will end up being so expensive that I will never be able to afford one.

Anyway, about the doubled dies...I can't find a "tutorial" on here explaining them. Is there one?

I sit atop a 2003 100th Anniversary Ultra Glide Classic. Had a few tweaks done to the motor, added a little chrome and walla. She's my pride and joy. It would take FAR more than an 09SVDB to pry her loose.

All coins I have. The only one curious is 1969 lincoln cent, *(Photo Posted)
I have had for many years, in my penny collection no interest in coins.

I googled info, and read wild stories of illegal,
a team made duplicates of years ago, because of the value?
    A Value back then...... funny?
    Interesting stories anyway..

On the date on 9 of the 19 It looks like a punch mint mark mistake?
Asking the pros, What are your thoughts on this penny?

Would you pay to send this to a professional grader to see if authentic?
Do you think this is from the die (mold) or ?
Or worth nothing but 1-2 cent copper value?

    Thanks All
    Kimberly

It looks from the recent posting replies from coppercoins that he is having a bad hair day or just likes to hear himself talk. Is he always so flip or am I imaging things. We all need to be patient here. There are many honestly serious collectors here who sometimes lack in knowledge and are looking for our advice. If you do not have the patience then this is not the place to be. A more positive attitude is definitley in order for this guy. "Nuff said."

I'm not sure where you get the idea that I don't have patience. I spend hours a day helping people on four different message boards, along with working on photography, websites, books, and other things. I live and breathe coins when I'm not inhaling bugs on my bike. I'm chill, I just explain things like it is. No flowers, no feelings or opinions.

Bad hair day...funny. I haven't had one of those in 20 years.

And there are some that give the wrong description. I would rather hear the proper advice without weeding through the improper answers. Why do you say he's having a bad hair day?

    Copper,
It was an opinion based on some of your comments on different topics, ie, "be 100% sure before...." I'm not sure if someone is new to the hobby they can be 100% sure about anything really and maybe they are expressing what they see about what they have the best way they know how?
In another post someone used the terminology " double printing". This person obviously did not know that double printing applies to paper and not coins. But you derided him in the first sentence of your reply. I'm only asking if that was necessary.
With all due repect, I am positivly sure that you are probably a very nice person, a hard worker, love your coin hobby to death, etc., but you tend to come on quite rough sometimes, therefore my comment. Our hobby is sorely lacking in new collectors as it seems clubs are closing, smaller shows are dissapearing, etc. It's always nice to see newbies as they add to the community of coin collectors, keeps them out of trouble and they learn from our past mistakes. We were young and ignorant when we got our first coins and 40 years ago their were no forums such as this to turn to. It is not my intent to insult you in this forum, it was an observation based on your comments. Are we cool withis? If I have hit a nerve then you have my sincere apology and let's start fresh, okay? Thanks.

    I'm all cool...don't worry.

What people grow to understand about me is that I am ALWAYS there to help if people want to learn, but I give the 'straight from the hip' answer. Meet me in person and if you can get over the fact that I wear shades and a dew-rag and stand 6'1" at 230 pounds, I'm actually a really pleasant and intelligent person to bounce questions off of. Forums are a little different story...

See, noobs come around wanting an answer. Usually "how much is it worth" questions. I give them the short and sweet answer right there and then. If they ask questions about coins and use improper terminology, I give them the proper term. I type as little as possible to get the job done, but even that is often over 5,000 words a day. So I do the best I can to keep things at a minimum.

The other part that people grow to understand about me is that I am not an APA tree hugger 'feel good' emotional flower-child type person. I am very sincere and would do anything to help you, but I'm not "Mr. Smiles". If people are coming to me for an unwarranted pat on the back, they've come to the wrong person. If they've come to me wanting the truth without expecting a candy mint to make it sweeter, I'm the guy.

Perhaps it's a character flaw, perhaps it's something that 20 years of psychotherapy could help 'fix', but my family, friends, and associates are all used to it. I don't ever mean bad by what I say or how I say it...so try not to read too far into my responses. Instead look at the technical aspect of the response and you will soon figure out that I always answer when I know the answer, and I keep my trap shut when I don't. And that's a quality more people should learn to live by.

I'm also a bit crabby because the kids left me without milk for my coffee this morning and my bike has been in the shop for three weeks now for a simple electrical issue. Some Harley shops are great, others really suck. Guess which kind I live next to.
