Okay today at work I found a good condition $1 2006 I know one of the sigs in Cabral and I think the other was Paulson or something like that. The serial number is F77777519D Not a huge deal but didn't know if that many 7's is a good thing.

Also today I found a 2003 $100 San Fransisco Cabral and Snow sigs serial number FL 00000969 D I don't have hundreds just laying around so if it's worth saving I may save it but if not I won't.

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

No I wish....I am working with a Biotechnology Research Center here.
It is snowing and quite cool still....LOL

Yes it will say current....but 5 leading zeros will always command a small premium if the note is worthy of it. It needs to be crispy....no less tahn XF to AU

I may just have to take a picture of it tomorrow then. I was excited when I saw it. I was going through our shipment taking out the mutilated money so it won't get jammed in our machines and found it. I immediatly traded it for one in my drawer to hold in case I decided it was worthy of buying.

5 leading zeros IS a keeper... that is if you can afford to sock away a $100. You should be able to flip it for a premium if its a high enough grade. If its worn or tattered, i would let it go.

the $1 is not worth anything more then a buck :)

I was so busy at work today I didn't get to look at it that well. I will definatly check it out tomorrow and take a picture. I'm not sure I'd keep it cuz of the cost but may see if I can sell it if I can get something out of it and use the money made to go towards something that I can afford. I've never tried to sell anything so not sure of what kind of premium we are talking about.

are you certain it was a 2003? maybe a 2003A... the 2003A notes have the 'F' starting letter..

In October 2006, the last $100 note printed was FL 032 00000 D for that district. So your note was printed during that month. I could look in my books for a value, but it wouldnt do much good. There is alot of them for that district, and nothign else is special about the note. Any value above face woudl be determined by a buyer who loves low serial numbers. a check on ebay for similar 3 digit serials might give you an idea of a value above face.

Even if it doesnt have a value above face, a collector on the forum might still love to have it if you offer it up in the open forum. (no, not me :) im beyond broke!!)

I'm not sure if it's a 2003 or 2003 A right now. It's at work so I'll look tomorrow. I was still at work about 40 minutes after I was supposed to get off and worked 2 hours late yesterday too so I was ready to get out and just jotted down the number really fast. Thanks!

I don't want to sound rude cuz I don't have any hard feelings towards you for what you just said BUT that being said I don't see how you can say "100 is alot of money for a bank teller". I may just be a bank teller but I'm a bank teller because I want to be one. No I'm not rich but my husband is a business owner and we do just fine. Actually in the 16 years of marriage I maybe worked a year total until a little over a year and a half ago.

I stayed home with my kids and now that they are older I'm working because I want to. My job is about 5 minutes from my home and about a minute away from my kids schools.

Yes I did say I don't have hundreds just laying around and I don't. But my point there is that I would rather use it on something else if there is no point in saving that particular one.

I don't have to work. We don't rely on my income so how much I make isn't really relavant. I work where I work for the pay that I do because I want to and because I enjoy it.

With that being said I have no problem with bank tellers or anyone who doesn't make much money. That isn't my point. My point is I shouldn't be judged as to what I can and can't afford by the title of my job.

Okay I'm through with that and please don't take it personal cuz it's not meant that way. Just had to say it!

Okay I was trying to add this and it didn't work. What I was going to add is that I did say I don't have hundreds laying around and I don't. I'm not rich by any means. I'd rather spend the hundred on something else if it's not of any value but if I did decide to save it I wouldn't be hurting financially in anyway. Just a matter of what is more important to me. I'm a woman. I like to spend money! LOL

Nothing was meant about it from that perspective. It was misunderstood and I'm sorry I made you feel like you had to post all that personal information. I was looking at it this way. I have a cashier at the Pharmacy who makes a few bucks an hour. She drives into to work and about once a week she ends up getting ticketed for parking illegally, which is very easy to do in the city.

So the ticket cost her about $250 with fees and she doesn't make much more than that in a week. So I always feel bad for her that she worked the whole day just to pay the Department of Motor Vehicles.

One day I asked her about this and she say, "I don't care, my husband pays for it. Either that or he can go pick up the kids from my mothers everyday in Queens."

I know tellers come to their money the hard way, but I didn't mean to imply anything about your families finances.

Maybe I shouldn't have taken what I read the way that I did. Sorry about that. Should have just kept my mouth shut. I guess the way that I actually took it is that I'm just a lowly low income bank teller as opposed to a Pharmacist or something. You're right. Bank tellers don't make much but here is my story.

I grew up in a home where college was NEVER mentioned by my mother at all. I guess mainly because she couldn't afford it. I'm not sure exactly why. I got pregnant the summer before my senior year of high school and married my senior year. I graduated and ended up staying home with my kids. Yes we married young and struggled in the beginning. I did work a couple of times when times where really hard but stayed at home with my boys so that they wouldn't be in daycare (not that there is anything wrong with daycare it was just my choice).

I never had the choice to go to college. I guess some would say I did have the choice because people do it all of the time but it wasn't a choice that I made. I take it a little personal when a comment is made about my job. No I don't have a glorious job. No I'm not college educated, but we do alright and I got to raise my boys and now I have a job that I enjoy not a job that I have to have to pay the bills.

Does any of that make any sense?

and I would NEVER judge anyone from their title. Most of what you wrote I had already surmised from reading your posts.

I posted again because I do realize that you probably didn't mean it the way that I took it. No tellers don't make much money. I make **** an hour and I know that's not much. But the fact that I'm so close to home also saves hugely in gas money so I feel like I'm making another $50 a week in the money that I'm saving in driving cuz I could be driving a lot farther. Anyways like I said no harm done. I just feel a little defensive at times because I guess sometimes I feel embarrissed that I don't have a college education and a job that is considered a good job. I konw that I have a job that a teenager an get right out of high school but I'm very happy where I am and love what I do.

    Again no harm done.

Edited to say I took out what I make an hour. Just in case someone I work with came across this post. We aren't supposed to know what each other makes. LOL Anyways enough of this. I feel kind of stupid after explaining myself and taking it the way that I did so I'm through! And I smile everytime you call me Kadylied or however you spell it! LOL

Were all friends here on the forum, and we are as much a family as anything. And FWIW, I'm envious of your job. Its far more interesting and intellectually stimulating than mine and your already climbing up the ladder. I wish I had the luxury of taking a job like yours.

And trust me KD, I'm fully aware of the sacrifices we make for our families. I have 6 kids and it hasn't been a perfect marriage either. So you must be doing something right and your posts are articulate and interesting, which is why I read them so closely. I don't collect paper and you nobodies fool.
